PreK-5th Grade: Spark Curiosity and Compassion
Our PreK-5th grade classrooms buzz with excitement as young learners embark on a year-long adventure using the Soul Matters curriculum. Each program is meticulously crafted to meet the unique developmental needs and interests of each age group.
- Wee Wisdom & Wonder (PreK-1st Grade): These wide-eyed explorers are eager to discover the world around them. Through engaging stories, playful songs, and hands-on activities, our PreK-1st graders will explore the joy of friendship, kindness, and the importance of treating everyone with respect. They’ll delve into the wonder that fills our world, learning the power they have to make a positive difference. Imagine their delight as they plant seeds of compassion and watch them blossom into acts of service!
- Growing in Wonder Together (2nd-3rd Grade): Get ready for a whirlwind adventure in our 2nd-3rd grade classroom! Using Soul Matters as our guide, we’ll embark on exciting journeys that explore courage, perseverance, and compassion. Through storytelling, engaging activities, and learning about inspiring changemakers, these young minds will discover the strength within themselves to make a positive impact on the world. They’ll meet historical and contemporary heroes who championed justice and equality, igniting their own desire to create a better tomorrow.
- Building Bridges of Understanding (4th-5th Grade): Our pre-teens are naturally curious about the vast tapestry of cultures and beliefs that exists around the globe. In our 4th-5th grade class, we’ll delve into these rich traditions using Soul Matters’ curriculum. Thoughtful discussions, creative activities, and thought-provoking readings will foster empathy and respect for all. Students will discover the common threads that connect us all, building bridges of understanding and celebrating the beauty of our shared humanity. Imagine them creating presentations on diverse religious holidays, fostering a spirit of inclusion and appreciation for the richness of human experience.
Middle & High School: Deepen Your Exploration
As our students mature, so do our programs! We offer stimulating opportunities for exploration and growth for middle and high schoolers.
- Neighboring Faiths (6th-8th Grade): This program delves into the world’s rich tapestry of religions using Soul Matters’ “Crossing Paths” curriculum. Students will explore diverse traditions, fostering respect and understanding for all beliefs. They’ll engage in open discussions about religious practices, philosophies, and histories, developing a deeper appreciation for the multifaceted nature of human spirituality.
- On the Road Together (High School): Our high school program provides a supportive space for young adults to navigate the complexities of life. “On the Road Together” will encourage self-discovery, explore ethical living, and empower critical thinking skills. Through discussions, guest speakers, and service-learning projects, students will grapple with important questions about identity, purpose, and their place in the world.
Adults: Connect and Grow
Meaningful connections and intellectual stimulation await adults in our small group ministry. Using Soul Matters’ rich discussion materials, you’ll delve into thought-provoking topics with like-minded individuals, fostering a sense of community and shared growth. Imagine engaging in stimulating conversations about ethics, current events, or spiritual questions, all within a supportive and welcoming environment.
Small Groups: Join a supportive community of individuals as we explore deep questions of faith, meaning, and purpose. Through thoughtful discussions and personal reflections, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of yourself and your place in the world. Connect with others who share your values and aspirations, creating lasting bonds of friendship and spiritual growth.

More to Explore Throughout the Year:
Our commitment to lifelong learning extends beyond the fall program:
- Our Whole Lives (K-1st Grade): Coming this spring, this nationally recognized program provides a safe and supportive environment for exploring healthy sexuality and self-esteem.
- Age of Reason (2nd-3rd Grade): Later this year, this program fosters critical thinking and ethical decision-making skills, culminating in a beautiful Flower Communion Service celebrating personal growth on June 1st.
More Than Just Education
MUUF Religious Education is more than just a place to learn about religion. It’s a vibrant community where individuals of all ages can explore their values, ask questions without judgment, and grow alongside others who share a commitment to compassion, justice, and making the world a better place. We believe that fostering a sense of wonder and curiosity is essential for spiritual growth, and we provide a safe and supportive environment where children and youth can develop their own unique beliefs. Our adult programs offer opportunities for lifelong learning and connection, and we encourage open dialogue about the big questions in life. At MUUF, we believe that religious education is a journey of self-discovery, social responsibility, and building a more just and loving world.
Soul Matters: A Shared Thread
Soul Matters themes will be seamlessly woven into our worship services, creating a rich learning experience that transcends classrooms and fosters intergenerational connections. This approach allows families to explore the same values together in different age-appropriate ways, deepening their understanding and sparking meaningful conversations at home. Additionally, during multigenerational activities throughout the year, younger and older learners will have opportunities to interact, share their perspectives, and learn from each other. This fosters a sense of community that extends beyond the classroom and strengthens the bonds that connect us.
Join us this fall and embark on a meaningful journey!
The Morristown UU Fellowship fosters lifelong learners, compassionate individuals, and engaged citizens of the world. We invite you to join our vibrant community and discover the joy of learning, growing, and connecting with others on a similar path.
