You will see photos of people who have been the subjects of previous Odyssey events.
For the “public” version current as of 4/8/24. You will see videos for people who have given permission for anyone to see their Odyssey. Some faces are marked with red dots. These indicate people who have not yet given explicit permission for their videos to be viewed by the general public. Clicking those faces will take you to Realm, to login to access the non-public version of the quilt.
For the “non-public” version. You will be taken to Realm where you can login to get a version where all Odyssey events can be viewed.
For MUUF members and Visitors
The Odyssey program of the Morristown Unitarian Universalist Fellowship offers interviews of members of the Fellowship community and gives an insight into their lives and their spiritual journeys.
As of April 2024 there have been a total of 27 Odyssey video interviews and associated Q&A sessions, about one per month. The goals of the Project are to learn about the life of the interviewees, record the wisdom they offer, and to share this with the Fellowship community. The Odyssey Project started in November of 2020, 6 months into COVID and its associated isolation, with a series of biweekly Zoom meetings between Iraj Mohebalian and Tom McGuiness. These were recorded, assembled, and became the very first Odyssey video.
Interviewees are suggested by members of the Odyssey Project team, by MUUF members, and by self-nomination. Odyssey participants tend to be long-time MUUF members, but not always. In some cases both members of a MUUF couple have chosen to participate.
The process involves recording a Zoom interview, which is subsequently edited to a 20-30 minute video. At the Odyssey event at MUUF, the video is shown, then the guest of honor is available for Q&A for the rest of the hour. This is usually followed by light refreshments and an opportunity for further one-on-one interaction.
Links to their stories are found on the Odyssey Project Quilt, which is a PDF containing photos of Odyssey Project participants and links to their events, current as of 4/8/24. The “public” version is *** here *** . In this version, the video will play when you click on the faces of people who have given permission for anyone to view the video. The red dots designate people who have NOT given permission. Clicking on those faces will take you to the Realm page where the private version can be accessed.
The “private” version is accessed through Realm ***here***, in order to safeguard the privacy of participants. Anyone with a MUUF Realm account can access it. It may work best when the PDF file is viewed in a browser. Adobe Acrobat (Reader) may require confirmation to follow the link.
Check out the Easter Egg link on the logo frame.
For Odyssey Team Members
This is a link to the “Resource” page for the Odyssey Project group within Realm. Please click the link, and give Realm your credentials if it asks. Then you will probably have to click this link again to get to the right spot within Realm.
Once you see the Odyssey Videos PDF document, click on it. This will download a copy to your computer. Since the document is a PDF page, if you click on the downloaded file tab at the bottom of your browser, it should open within the browser. Then you will see the live links which you can follow to the video of your choice, within YouTube.
Each subject will in principle have two video files associated with him/her. the first is the Zoom interview (I), which is between 15-30 minutes long. The second is the Odyssey event presented (P) at MUUF which includes both the Zoom interview and the subsequent Q&A.
