COME JOIN GAAMC ON MONDAYS DURING PRIDE MONTH
June 2, 6 pm: Adult Mad Libs: We will be playing the pride version of Adult Mad Libs. For those unfamiliar with this game, a “reader” asks everyone else (the “writers”) to supply words to fill in blanks in a document (known to the reader but not the writers). The results can be hilarious. Titles include “Cubs and Otters and Bears, Oh My!”, “Lesbian Potluck: A Menu”, and “Gay Beach Body Guide.” For a change of pace, we may also test our knowledge of Queer Trivia. Come prepared to have fun and perhaps to think a bit.
June 9, 6 pm: The Joys of June: Come join the regular GAAMC members to learn about June events, such as D-Day, the sixth of June, the invasion of Normandy; Juneteenth, the day of Emancipation for blacks in Texas; and the Stonewall uprising in 1969. Share where you will be spending this first month of summer, and what “Men’s Health Week” and “Accordion Awareness Month” mean to you.
June 16, 6 pm: The Songs of Pride: Come join us as we listen to and discuss the songs of Pride. What’s YOUR coming out song? What song says “Pride”? What gets your feet moving and feeling like celebration? Send your links and selections to [email protected] and share your favorites for Pride 2025!
June 23, 6 pm: The Florham Park Diner: Enjoy good fun & food at a reasonable price! We’ll meet at the restaurant located at 182 Ridgedale Ave in Florham Park. Please rsvp by Friday, June 20, to Gordon Sauer at[email protected].
June 30, 6 pm: The Movie Milk: In 1977 Harvey Milk joined the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, becoming the first openly gay politician elected in the U.S. Less than a year later, he was assassinated. But despite that tragedy, this film biography is a joyous celebration of both coming out of the closet and the power of queer solidarity. Come join us, as we view and discuss this film.
Refreshments are served, and attendees are asked for a small donation at each meeting except June 23.
