Embark on a transformative journey of discovery.
Join us at the Morristown Unitarian Universalist Fellowship for Neighboring Faiths, a unique program designed to broaden young minds and hearts. This inspiring class is open to curious students in grades 6-8 and will unfold from September 15th to the end of May.
Through in-depth classroom exploration and immersive visits to local religious communities, we will embark on a captivating exploration of Unitarian Universalism, Judaism, Christianity, Quakerism, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, Paganism, and Humanism.
But Neighboring Faiths is far more than just an academic pursuit. At its core, this program is dedicated to cultivating liberating love – a profound force that embraces diversity, fosters empathy, and builds bridges of understanding. We believe that by exploring the rich tapestry of human spirituality, we can develop a deep appreciation for the commonalities that unite us, while also celebrating our unique perspectives.
Together, we will challenge stereotypes, question assumptions, and cultivate a profound sense of respect for all people. We will learn to see the world through multiple lenses, developing the critical thinking skills necessary to navigate an increasingly complex and interconnected world.
Join us as we:
- Uncover the shared values and ethical principles that ground diverse faith traditions.
- Develop the capacity to engage in meaningful dialogue with people of different backgrounds.
- Cultivate a lifelong commitment to social justice and equity.
Neighboring Faiths is more than just a class; it’s an invitation to become a global citizen, equipped with the knowledge and compassion to create a more harmonious and just world.
