Giving

There are many ways to give back to the Morristown Unitarian Universalist Fellowship. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Pledging

Choosing membership at the Fellowship represents a vital commitment to the present and future of our beloved community. Funding for our Annual Budget overwhelmingly comes from our members, with pledges covering over 80% of our ongoing operations. As a member, an annual pledge is part of your commitment to the Fellowship.

Our annual budget drive takes place each Spring, with pledges solicited from all members for the following fiscal year (June-July). Pledges can be paid according to a schedule that best meets each member’s personal situation. We know members’ financial circumstances may vary – so, if you or your family cannot make a financial commitment for a particular fiscal year, you may request a private consultation with the minister to obtain a waiver for that year.

Our congregation provides a “suggested fair share giving guide” that can help you determine what level of giving is right for you. The suggested range of pledging ranges from 2%-10% annual income. Some of our members pledge even more.

We ask that you make a written pledge during our April Annual Pledge Drive by either filling out and returning a pledge card at the Fellowship or by making a pledge on-line and entering your annual pledge (which can even allow you to use automatic monthly payments)

Capital Giving: Mortgage Prevention Phase

In November 2024 the congregation celebrated the completion of the new Gateways Center, the final piece of our multi-phase capital project.  The 9,000 square foot Gateways Center Addition includes: The Al and Minda Chu Family Hall, a 4,000 square foot multi-purpose gathering space with a stage and full AV and lighting; Two class rooms including the Morgenthaler Ferm Our Whole Lives Owl Room; a Commercial-style Kitchen; Bathrooms; The Uhrhane Wilson Family Welcome Gallery connecting to the existing Mansion; the Loe Family Courtyard of Compassion In Memory of Lee, Hardy & Claire Loe; Accessible Parking, Landscaping and Groundwater Management!

The final $4.8 million campaign phase was completed on budget.  Our final fundraising need to avoid a mortgage is $335,000 as of June 2025 and pledges can be paid through August 2026. Thank you for your continued support.

Planned Giving

The Endowment Fund was established in 1994 to secure, strengthen and extend the long term mission of the Fellowship. Contributions are invested to ensure the future financial security of the Fellowship and to provide for special projects in education, social justice and outreach.

Contributions to the Fund are made through bequests and through contributions made as a Tribute Gift.

Tribute Gifts

Honor a loved one or a special event by making a donation to the Fellowship. We will notify the person or family in whose name the gift has been made. (Notification does not include the amount of the gift.)

Fundraising Events

Every year we have several fundraising events such as our Service Auction, Makers Market, and others. Check out our Calendar Page for more information.
