New Addition
The Fellowship Hall has been a desired feature for decades. As membership grew over the years, the congregation no longer had a place where all members could gather together for Sunday services or an all-Fellowship meal. In 2010 Rev Alison Miller inspired the membership to consider ways to allow the entire membership to gather together at one time.
Consideration was given to:
1) Stay, renovate and expand
2) Buy vacant land and build
3) Buy an existing facility and remodel
The congregation decided to support Option 1.
This led to the design of a 9,000 square foot one-story Fellowship Hall to include a 4,000-foot meeting room, new kitchen, two classroom/meeting spaces and accessible gender-neutral bathrooms. A groundbreaking ceremony will be held on September 17, 2023. In addition to the building itself, the grounds will have new landscaping and a 35-car parking lot on the west side of the property.
Planning and construction were under the direction of a six-member Gateways Task Force consisting of: Helene Ferm, George Hays, David Horst, Steve Parker, Sandra Persichetti, and Toby Tyler.
Construction completed in November, 2024.
