August Joys

August 4, 6 pm: The Joys of August.  Come to GAAMC to learn how August got its name, what its flowers and birthstones are. There will be videos to see, a fact-filled quiz to test your recollection, and a lively discussion of favorite August activities, places, and foods. As usual, there will be a nice selection of snacks and drinks. A small donation is asked. And if you are so inclined, join a group of attendees at a local diner to continue the camaraderie.

August 11, 6 pm: The Joys of Travel.  Join us as we discuss why people travel, where we have traveled, and where we’d like to go. We’ll also view and discuss a short Rick Steves video on travel and share pictures of our trips. If you’d like to have 4 or 5 of your travel pictures included, please email them to Gordon at [email protected] by August 8.

August 18, 6 pm: Songs of SummerCome to GAAMC’s Summer Song Spectacular! Songs ignite a special portion of our memories – what are your special songs, past and present? Send a link to [email protected] with your selections and be prepared to share the “why”! See you there!

Refreshments are served at each meeting, and attendees are asked for a small donation.

August 25, 6 pm: The Florham Park Diner: Enjoy good fun & food at a reasonable price!  We’ll meet at the restaurant located at 182 Ridgedale Ave in Florham Park.  Please rsvp by Friday, August 22, to Gordon Sauer at [email protected].
