Children’s Programs

At the Morristown Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, our Religious Education programs are designed to nurture the whole person. We cultivate a love of learning that empowers individuals of all ages to explore their beliefs and values. Our classrooms are open forums where critical thinking is encouraged, and questions are celebrated. We believe in fostering empathy and understanding by delving into diverse cultures and religions, promoting inclusivity and acceptance.

But it’s not all about individual growth. Our programs are built on the idea that we learn best together. We create a welcoming and supportive community where friendships blossom, and a sense of belonging is nurtured. Through service projects and social justice initiatives, we inspire young minds to become active participants in creating a more just and equitable world. Whether you’re seeking spiritual exploration, intellectual engagement, or simply a place to connect with like-minded individuals, our Religious Education programs offer a warm welcome and a chance to embark on a meaningful journey together.

Our Religious Education Goals

  • Pre-K – To help children become familiar with their environment, community, and classroom structure, while reinforcing positive values and behaviors.
  • Lower Elementary – To foster a sense of belonging and purpose, engage with rituals, connect with the spiritual life of the congregation, and actively contribute to the broader community.
  • Upper Elementary – To develop students into role models who actively inquire, think critically, act responsibly, apply values, take ownership, and expand their knowledge of history to contribute to the congregation.
  • Middle School – To guide students through self-discovery and identity formation, offering a safe space for exploration. Help them understand external influences, encourage self-reflection, and equip them to make informed choices and build healthy relationships. Foster a positive self-identity for their future well-being.

More Than Just Education

MUUF Religious Education is more than just a place to learn about religion. It’s a vibrant community where individuals of all ages can explore their values, ask questions without judgment, and grow alongside others who share a commitment to compassion, justice, and making the world a better place. We believe that fostering a sense of wonder and curiosity is essential for spiritual growth, and we provide a safe and supportive environment where children and youth can develop their own unique beliefs. Our adult programs offer opportunities for lifelong learning and connection, and we encourage open dialogue about the big questions in life. At MUUF, we believe that religious education is a journey of self-discovery, social responsibility, and building a more just and loving world.

Soul Matters: A Shared Thread

Soul Matters themes will be seamlessly woven into our worship services, creating a rich learning experience that transcends classrooms and fosters intergenerational connections. This approach allows families to explore the same values together in different age-appropriate ways, deepening their understanding and sparking meaningful conversations at home. Additionally, during multigenerational activities throughout the year, younger and older learners will have opportunities to interact, share their perspectives, and learn from each other. This fosters a sense of community that extends beyond the classroom and strengthens the bonds that connect us.

Easter Egg Hunt

It’s almost Easter at the Fellowship! A few of us recently realized that no one had signed up to plan the Easter celebration, so we’re doing a low-key celebration with Easter snacks, a laid-back egg hunt, and treats and prizes. BUT, we still can’t make that happen without donations and volunteers! For the Easter snacks
