Social Justice
SocialJustice@muuf.org
SEAC, or Social Environment Action Committee, is an umbrella group that meets three to four times per year to promote the agenda/activities of the Fellowship’s Social Action and Study Action Groups, organize new and seasonal social action responses by our community, consider social service requests for funding, and conduct quarterly allocations of 50% of our Sunday collection monies on behalf of the Fellowship to local and other charities.
All Fellowship members are invited to become members at large within the Social Justice Council. There are organizational volunteer roles for multiple seasonal and ongoing social justice activities involving the entire congregation. If you have administrative, marketing, creative, financial talents we can put them to great use alongside the leaders and team members of the Social Action Groups. Any member is welcome to suggest a non-profit program to receive financial support from the Fellowship by presenting it to SEAC at donation allocation meetings.
Green Earth Ministry
greenearth@muuf.org
Meets monthly.
This committee seeks to encourage earth-friendly practices within the Fellowship, within the lives of Fellowship members and friends, and in the larger communities to which we belong. Goals include raising awareness of environmental issues and injustices; encouraging community and government action; generating commitment to sustainable lifestyle choices; and building a connection between spiritual practice and environmental consciousness. All are welcome to participate in our activities and meetings.
